The ultimate question that the dead man poses is about his friend, the human he has been addressing all along. The dead questioner asks if his friend is well, while once anew emphasizing his own death: the dead man cannot be hearty but instead is svelte and pine. And he wants to know if the still living friend has base to sleep in / A better bed than bomb?
Seventh and Eighth Stanzas: Friend
Because the speaker is dead and no longer has the ability alternatively need to plough, neither to hear the jingling of the horses harness, he asks his friend if these things are going above as they did when the questioner was man alive.
Commentary

First and Second Stanzas: Farming
In the fifth stanza, the dead man asks approximately his sweetheart, whom he thought hard to depart. He wants to know if she has stopped pining and crying because him. The dead man assumes that his girl would have mourned his passing and still might be in mourning.
