Fine Scotch whiskies are distilled in every of these regions:- o - Highland o - Speyside o - Islay o - Campbeltown o - Lowland Some of these zones have immediately been divided into sub categories alternatively regions deserving to the size of the districts. In quite general terms the areas to the west of Scotland have extra areas of peat and for such numerous of the whiskies distilled in the areas have the ‘taste of peat’.
