Post Sporting NFL GTFO Awards The Best and Worst of Wee
Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers were supposed to be 1-3 after four weeks, right? Well, they now stand at 2-0 after Charlie Batch led them to a victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The Steelers are kicking ass on their defense so they hardly need their offense. They forced 7 Titans turnovers and caused Jeff Fisher to bench Vince Young. The Steelers go to Cleveland next week before hosting the Baltimore Ravens in week 4 at home. It’s possible that the Steelers could end up being 4-0 when Big Ben returns. If that happens, watch out.

The NFL GTFO “Get You Some Hit of the Week” goes to the person who had the most devasating hit of the week.

The GTFO “Surprise(s) of the Week”
Houston Texans – This goes with the performer of the week, but the Houston Texans showed that they are the real deal. Down 17 points with just seconds left in the third quarter,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Texans stormed back to force overtime where they eventually won the game. This team has all of the ingredients to win it all this year. They have a premier passing game, a potential all-pro running back, and a solid defensive core. They’ve now beat the Colts and Titans, two teams considered to be among the best in the AFC.
Matt Schaub – Schaub showed a lot of heart in a comeback win against the Washington Redskins. Schaub threw 497 yards and 3 touchdowns, 2 of which were in the final 15 minutes. The Texans are legit this year with Schaub to Andre Johnson being the main attraction. Don’t let their defense fool you, they can get the job done. If Schaub keeps performing at this level and the Texans keep winning,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Schaub could end up the NFL MVP

The NFL originated in 1946 with 11 teams, and through a sequence of team expansions, reductions, and relocations currently consists of 30 teams. The United States is home to 29 teams and one is located in USA. The Boston Bruins have won the most championships with 17 NFL Finals wins. The next most successful franchise is the Los Angeles Lakers, who have 16 overall championships 11 in Los Angeles, 5 in Minneapolis, including the most recent one. Following the Lakers are the Chicago Bulls with six championships, all of them over an eight year span during the 1990s, and the San Antonio Spurs with four championships.
The NFL GTFO “Quote of the Week” goes to the person who had the most entertaining thing to say during the past week in the NFL.

The “GTFO Moment of the Week” goes to the player, team,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], coach,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or referee that had the worst single play or moment during the given NFL week.

The GTFO “Team of the Week” Award goes to the team that looked the best during the given week.
In 2001 an affiliated minor league, the National Basketball Development League, now called the NFL Development League or D League was created. Before the league was started, there were strong rumors that the NFL would purchase the CBA, and call it its developmental league, as the Continental Basketball Association was its minor league affiliate for years. 20 percent of NFL players spent time in this league and over 143 players have been called up to play in the NFL. Larry FrenchIn 2004 the Lakers returned to the Finals, only to fall in five games to the Detroit Pistons. The following off season, Kobe was traded to the Miami Heat, and the Charlotte Bobcats were established as the league 30th team. The Spurs won their third championship in 2005.

The GTFO “Idiots of the Week” Award goes to the players, coaches, or teams who proved to make a fool of themselves and/or their team.
The GTFO “Performer(s) of the Week” Award goes to the individual(s) that had the most productive week.

Andy Reid – This award goes to Reid,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], not because of what he did during the game, but what he did after. Reid is adamant on his stance of Kevin Kolb being his starting quarterback, even after Michael Vick led them to a victory with a solid performance. Vick passed for 284 yards and 2 touchdowns all while rushing 7 times for 37 yards. Granted, this was against the Detroit Lions, but Reid should keep Vick in there for now if he wants to keep winning.
“There were six points given off bad calls. It’s six points. They didn’t earn it. This is football and football is getting hit. There’s so many rules that take away from the game.” Can you guess who said that? It’s Ray Lewis. Lewis has always been quick to criticize the referees and it didn’t take very long this year. While he’s getting heat for whining too much, he did have a point on Sunday. The new rules to protect the quarterbacks may be a bit too much. Ray sure seems to think so.
David Baas – Baas cost the San Francisco 49ers dearly on Monday night against the New Orleans Saints when he snapped the ball over Alex Smith’s head by at least 10 feet. There’s not much to say here, the video tells all. Click Here to check it out.

Dallas Cowboys – This is the second straight week that the Dallas Cowboys have made the list for something negative. I’m not taking anything away from the Chicago Bears,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but Dallas looked bad once again. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about Dallas’ schedule and predict that the Cowboys would end up 9-7. The only problem,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they had them winning their first two games. It’s going to be a long season for the ‘Boys and if they’re going to make the playoffs, they’re going to have to win a lot of games as the underdog. Please read related articles:
