This week is all about news readers and games on the App Store. If you’re not into RSS feeds, you still might be interested in the Pulse News Reader app. It was one of the best news readers out there while it was a paid app, and now it’s free! But that’s not all; Google Voice is finally available on the App Store, and I found a bunch of utilities and some very promising games. Check it out.
Pulse News Reader - One of the most talked about news readers for iPad is now free. That’s right, this previously paid-for app is now a freebie for everyone. The style of this app is killer. It really makes browsing news interesting again with large picture previews of the most interesting content on the web. Give it a try on your iPad.
Pulse News Mini - You guessed it, the iPhone version is free too. Better download both.
Google Voice -Tthe official Google Voice app is finally available on the App Store. Many of you have been waiting for this for quite some time, and now that Apple has relaxed their rules, it’s available. You already know if you’re going to use this one. It even supports push notifications for text messages and voicemail!
Orbitz - Looking to book a flight or hotel, or rent a car? Orbitz has you covered. With this app,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you can do all the normal booking stuff that you’ve come to know Orbitz for, plus see your tricks, flight statuses and even hotels close by based on GPS. Pretty nifty.
Fast Food Calories - While you’re on your trip, you’re likely to be eating a bunch of fast food. And that’s probably the last thing you’re going to need coming in to the holiday season here. This app will at least keep you aware of the calorie content of most fast food restaurants.
Tiny Chef - Want to run your own restaurant, but not in real life? This game is the perfect answer. You can design your restaurant exactly as you want it to be in this very cartoony game. As you level up,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you’ll gain access to more complex recipes, though I thought simplicity was the goal in cooking… A network connection is required for the game to actually work.
Flip Clock HD - Another flip clock app, but honestly, I just love the style. This one gives you the date, an analog clock, a giant flip clock and the weather for up to five days. It’s the perfect thing to leave on your iPad at night at the bedside.
Kingdom Conquest - SEGA’s massively multiplayer online dungeon crawler. If you like dungeons and real time strategy, it’s time to give this one a look. You can join up with up to three other players to cast spells and defeat monsters. I’m not sure if four players qualifies for massive, but you can join up with just about anyone online, so I’ll let it slide. Looks to be a pretty decent title with no admission charge.
Match.com - Looking for love in all the wrong places? I’m not saying Match.com is the right place, but hey, it’s one of the premiere online dating services out there, so it can’t be all bad. And besides,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you use a computer for just about everything else in life, so what makes online dating any different?
Minigore - One of the top games on the App Store is free for a very limited time. It’s a dual stick shooter. You play as John Gore, a man who needs to fill his enemies full of lead just to stay alive. And now, you can even play as Undead Jenny. Go, download it, now.
