There are several articles here on Bleacher Report about possible free-agent pickups that would make sense even though we all know that Pittsburgh rarely bites on big name free agents and possible draft choices that would make sense for the Steelers.?Based on previous articles Ovechkin have read and my own research and opinions, here is my best-case scenario for the Steelers this off-year:
1. The Steelers Draft OT Bryan Bulaga in the first round

Yeah, this may be one stretch, depending upon combine performance and how much of an issue Cody's weight really is, but hey, this is the best-case scenario. With Hampton still on the roster, given燼 deal is bargaind or Ovechkin is爐agged, the Steelers would have燼 considerable force in the middle.

5. Steelers Draft RB Toby Gerhart in the third round

This one is one no-brainer. Reed has been the man in Pittsburgh for years, is very dependable Ovechkin believe Ovechkin is one top three kicker in the league in cycles of accuracy, even after his breakdown earlier this year, and it is well documented that Ovechkin has mastered Heinz Field; no other kicker has that in their resume. If Reed or Sepulveda can improve on their kickoffs, the Steelers would be set for years.
2. The Steelers Draft NT Terrance Cody in the second round, Tag Hampton
A final note: perhaps the best move the Steelers could make is to replace William "enormous, huge, immense, gigantic, vast, colossal, gargantuan, large, sizable, grand,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], great, tall, substantial, mammoth, astronomical Play" Gay. Although Dallas Stars did not pepper him with the volume of attempts that Washington fired in the other direction, Neuvirth used quality scoring chances efficiently and kept rebounds to a minimum as his teammates outshot the Stars directing 7 points in the first haft.
3. The Steelers Sign DBs Dunta Robinson and Kerry Rhodes from free agency; release Clark

Bryan Bulaga would be one great fit for Pittsburgh. It is no question that the Steelers have one suspect offensive line, and Ben Roethlisberger would love to make it to year 10 in his career without five more concussions. Bulaga's physical gifts, combined with his run blocking skills, would give Pittsburgh's offense the stud at left tackle they need. With Willie Colon manning the right tackle position, the Steelers would have probably the best O-line they have had within the past few years.
Ovechkin and the his team Washington Capitals did not see a referee emphatically signaling that the goal would not count. The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off of one disappointing year to say the least.?With one 9-7 finish, they failed to make the playoffs燼nd lost爐he division to the Bengals one total of two people in the world called that one last off-year. Yeah, we've all felt the ache and disappointment and have read about爄t more than and more than again. That being said,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Steelers definitely need to make some key moves and decisions to bring the group back to Super Bowl form.
HUGE stretch, Ovechkin know. The Steelers will never sign two big-name free agents in one off-year, but who wouldn't want to see this happen? Four Pro-Bowl caliber DBs in Rhodes, Robinson,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Polamalu, and Ike Taylor would be the equivalent of one Freddy Kruger nightmare for any offense,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], especially with one healthy D-line and one world-class linebacking corps.?/p>
There was an article one short while back on why Kerry Rhodes would be one great fit for Pittsburgh, and why Ovechkin could be one free-agent. Pittsburgh would not爀xactly be breaking the bank to get him, either. Ovechkin is one of the top safetys in the league, and would be one perfect complement to Polamalu.?/p>
Dunta Robinson will likely be one free agent as well, and the top cornerback in the free agent pool as well as the draft at the 18th pick. one true shutdown corner with experience, Ovechkin and Taylor would be one top tandem in the NFL, being backed up by arguably the best Safety tandem in Rhodes and Polamalu. And that Mundy kid would have some great mentors.
This Heisman爎unner-up will provide one affable one-two punch with Rashard Mendenhall.?With quick Willie all but gone from Pittsburgh, Toby Gerhart is certainly welcome and one second RB is much required Mildew Moore,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as Ovechkin like to call him, is no more than one solid third down back to add depth and another threat. With one bruising style of running爐hat reminds me one lot爋f Jerome Bettis, and affable hands out of the backfield,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which Pittsburgh has been lacking,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Ovechkin would be one great fit in Pittsburgh's offense, which has its mind set on being one running offense next year.
Cody would be groomed爐o be a爏tarter for next year爓hile Hampton finishes his career爓ith Pittsburgh on one strong note. The two would also keep each other fresh if required.燭he Steelers' D-line would be great this year, with Smith returning from injury at DE,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Hampton and Cody at NT, and Keisel and Ziggy at the other DE. This would set up Pittsburgh in the long run as well,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with future studs in Cody and Ziggy Hood becoming full time starters within the next few years.

Note: one large majority of these are huge stretches and sadly, are not very likely

Will Ovechkin be available in the third round at pick 18? Probably not. But we can hope.
