Post Puma Drift Cat II The Mythology of the D Puma Miha
In the ancient Indian Sanskrit language the word diamond is derived from two words; vajra, meaning “thunderbolt”, and indrayudha [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], referring to the weapon of the Vedic warrior god Indra. The word “diamond” originates from the Greek word adams, meaning unconquerable.
Modern healers claim diamonds benefit the stomach, help to develop concentration and assist brain diseases. Diamond is an antidote to poison, and will detect the presence of poison by displaying a moisture or perspiration on its surface. Diamonds encourage faith, innocence, joy, life, purity and repentance and help their owners be honest and direct. It is said a diamond will lose its brilliance if its wearer’s health declines, regaining its radiance when the owner recovers. The higher the quality of the diamond, the better i
Diamonds fascinate us with their brilliance, lustre, durability and hardness. First mined in India 3 [link widoczny dla zalogowanych],000 years ago, diamonds were regarded as a talisman to ward off evil or for protection during battle. Diamonds were also prized for their ability to refract light, evidenced by writings dating to this period describing their strength, ability to scratch metals and refractive qualities.
Diamonds in Mythology
Several darker myths have attributed the diamond with almost malevolent abilities. The Persians claimed a diamond would bring its wearer sorrow and shame. Plato describes diamonds as living creatures impersonating magical entities, while some claim the gemstone protects its wearer from black magic, ghosts, sorcery and spells. Diamonds were said to be poisonous, although this myth seems to originate from mine owners’ attempts to dissuade workers from swallowing the gemstones to smuggle them out of the mine to meet the increasing public demand for diamonds.
Owner Evalyn McLean wore the diamond constantly, and while she suffered no misfortunes her son died in a car accident and her daughter committed suicide. Her husband was institutionalised for insanity.

What is a Tension Setting?
Ancient Greeks believed diamonds were tears from their gods, while the Romans thought the gemstones were splinters from the stars used by Eros - the god of love - in his arrow tips. The Hindu believed diamonds held so much power they put diamonds into the eyes of some of their statues. An ancient Asian legend describes a valley of diamonds protected by birds of prey and murderous snakes. Chinese writings from the 3rd century claims: “Foreigners wear diamonds in the belief it can ward off evil influences”. The Chinese used diamonds to cut jade.
Such was the belief in the power of the diamond they were though to have the power to defy astrological events. The gemstones’ use in jewellery may be due to their ability to attract attention, as well as the belief they held mystical, sexual powers. During the Dark Ages diamonds were swallowed in an attempt to cure different stomach ailments. It was also thought that holding a diamond in one hand while making the sign of the cross would heal injuries and cure illnesses.
The Hope Diamond [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the world’s most famous diamond, is supposedly cursed, with the curse affecting several of the gemstone’s owners. It was stolen by a man named Tavernier from the eye of a Hindu statue of the goddess Sita. After selling the stone to French King Louis XIV Tavernier was killed by a pack of wild dogs. Ultimately the stone was inherited by Louis XVI, who was beheaded during the French Revolution. After disappearing from the French crown jewels it was eventually bought by the Hope family. The diamond was sold when the family went bankrupt.
